Dr. Saad Al Barrak "ILA Group Chairman"
Dr. Al Barrak is a distinguished engineer and businessman. He is the Founder and Chairman of ILA Group. He oversees ILA’s Investment and aligns with International market leaders for new Investment opportunities.
Prior to founding ILA Group, he was the CEO of Zain Group, Barrak took the company from a revenue of US$ 400 million to US$ 8.2 billion; from half a million customer base only in Kuwait to an astounding 75 million customers in 22 countries.
Dr. Al Barrak was the General Director of MTC-Kuwait in 2002. Previously, He spent around 13 years with International Trunkey systems (ITS) most recently as a General Manager where he helped in the growth of ITS to be the leading information systems integrators in the Middle East, operating in eight countries: Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, Lebanon, Egypt and Syria.
Dr. Al Barrak was Vice-Chairman of the Social Development Office (SDO) of the Amiri Diwan in Kuwait; Chairman of Egyptian software developer IT Soft; Chairman of Arab Telecom; and a non-executive Director of Arab Management Association in Cairo. In 2005 he received the Middle East’s ‘CEO of the Year’ award in the Information Communication Technology sector, and in 2003 he received the ‘E-businessman of the Year’ award in the region. Recently in September 2007, Dr Al Barrak received the 2007 Lifetime Achievement Award from leading industry magazine COMMSMEA. Dr Al Barrak is also an Executive Board Member of Celtel International and a Member of the Board of the GSM Association. Dr. Al Barrak holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering, an MSc in Systems Engineering from Ohio University, and a PhD in Information Systems & Technology Management from the University of London. He is also an alumnus of Harvard University.
Mr. Khalid Al Farkh "CEO"
Mr. Khalid is the CEO of ILA Group and serves on its board of director. Mr. Alfarkh is developing and guarding the approved culture of ILA Group entities along with following up on the set targets and Key Performance Indicators of the executive team on regular basis and guaranteeing its alignment with ILA’s overall targets and KPIs. Mr. Khalid in his capacity as the Deputy chairman of MW3 is supervising the development of the E2P platform and ecosystems it supports.
Prior to his appointment to MW3, Mr. Khalid was the advisor to the board of directors and the CEO of Zain KSA after resigning from Zain to setup a new venture. He was the Chief Business Transformation Officer where he led the startup project of Zain KSA and the COO of Zain KSA in 2008.
Previous to his work in Zain, Mr. Khalid assumed the role of the launch Director for MTC-Bahrain to build and operate the third 3G licensed operator in the world and the first in the ME, He then operated the company for one year as a COO. Mr. Khalid also spend 16 years with (ITS) International Trunkey Solutions, most recent as Regional Manager where he turned the region from a history of annual losses to a 4 consecutive years of profitable operation going from US$ 1.4 millions to US$ 5.9 millions.
Mr. Khalid earned his M.B.A. From Bradford University in the marketing field. And a Bachelor of Science in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering from Cairo University 1979.
Eng. Amr Yehia "Chief Technical Officer"
Eng. Amr Yehia has a Masters degree in consulting and coaching for change from HEC and Oxford Universities. He holds a B.Sc. in engineering from Cairo University. He has served around 22 years in the area of OD consulting and IT as a System analyst around the MENA region. Amr has also led and participated in numerous OD consulting and management training projects in his capacity as consultant in SKOPOS. He is regarded as an accomplished designer, contributor and initiator of numerous OD interventions and training programs offered by SKOPOS and Coredia. Amr’s areas of expertise in OD include change management, leadership development, needs assessment, designing integrated OD and change programs, performance management, organization culture development, executive coaching and strategic HR.
Eng. Amr is a co-founder and lead designer for Coredia Consulting which is specialized in organization solutions and organization development. Amr’s areas of expertise in management include managing large scale software implementation projects in the areas of HR, Higher Education as well as bespoke development. He managed two business areas within his capacity as a senior manager in ITS and has been the CEO of several technology start-ups.
